Dial-Up Networking Setup Instructions
Setup on Windows NT
- Double-click the My Computer icon
- Double-click the Dial- up Networking icon. If no entry exists you will receive a message box stating the phonebook is empty, click OK to continue. If an entry is already present click the New button.
- Type Compu-SOLVE for the name of the Phonebook Entry, select the option ÒI already know all about entries and would rather edit the properties directlyÓ and click the Next button.
- In the telephone number field, type your access phone number from your Internet Code Sheet and click the Next button.
- Click the Finish button to return to Dial-up Networking.Configure Your Compu-SOLVE Dial-up Connection
- With Dial-up Networking open, select your Compu-SOLVE Phonebook Entry and click the More button. Select ÒEdit entry and modem propertiesÓ.
- On the Basic tab, verify that you have the correct access number.
- Click Server Types tab and set the Type of Dial-Up Server to PPP: Windows NT Server, Windows 95 Plus, Internet
- Make sure only TCP/IP, Enable Software Compression, and Enable PPP LCP Extensions are checked off.
- Click the Script tab, click the option to Run this Script and select Generic Login.
- Click OK to return to Dial-Up Networking. Create a Dial-Up Networking Shortcut
- Click once on your Compu-SOLVE icon with your right mouse button.
- On the popup menu that appears, select Create Shortcut.
- When Windows asks if you want to create the shortcut on the desktop, click "Yes".
- Close the Dial-Up Networking window. You should now see the new Shortcut to Compu-SOLVE on your desktop.
